Abstract
Effects of bagging material on coloration, maturity, and quality of ¢¥Okubo¢¥, ¢¥Kawanakajima Hakuto¢¥, ¢¥Yumyeong¢¥, and ¢¥Changhowon Hwangdo¢¥ peach fruits were studied. Light transmittance of bagging material was in the order of white paper$gt;newspaper$gt;yellow paper. Fruit weight, fruit shape index, and soluble solids content were not significantly affected by bagging material, while titratable acidity tended to increase by bagging with yellow paper of low light transmittance. Hunter L^* and b^* values of fruits bagged with yellow paper were high, 69.22¡77.37 and 27.68¡43.76, respectively, while a* value was high (12.40¡25.52) in white paper than newspaper. Percent quality fruits of non-bagging culture was low due to diseases and pests, regardless of cultivars, while that of bagged fruits with white paper and yellow paper was higher than with newspaper. Yellow paper resulted in maturity delay for 3 to 8 days than newspaper bags according to cultivars.
